Centuries-old knowledge passed down through family

Guide Brian draws on a lifetime of fieldwork and family tradition — tacit knowledge from generations of Irish country living, not a textbook.

Hedgerow, field and fungi

The route winds through rough pasture and country lanes, stopping to identify seasonal plants, fungi, berries and hedgerow herbs as you go.

Wild treats and tasting

Foragers share prepared nibbles along the way — gorse honey, dandelion jelly, infused water — and demonstrate basic preservation back at a stone cottage.
