As dusk falls over Lough Hyne—Europe’s first designated marine nature reserve—you’ll set off in double kayaks. Far away from light pollution, the guides navigate by starlight. During the warmer months, the real magic happens: the disturbance of your paddles causes the harmless bioluminescent phytoplankton in the water to emit a mesmerizing, otherworldly blue-green glow.
